In a poignant tribute, Riley Keough, actress and daughter of the iconic Lisa Marie Presley, remembered her late mother and brother, Benjamin Keough, upon receiving an Emmy nomination.
Sharing a heartfelt image on her Instagram Story, Riley captioned a photo of a young Benjamin embracing Lisa Marie, saying, “Missing you both.” The emotional post came after the news of her recognition by the Television Academy for her leading role in the Prime Video series, “Daisy Jones & the Six.”
The 34-year-old star shared the nomination announcement on her Instagram Story and expressed her gratitude, writing, “Feeling very blessed 🙏🏼 thank you.”
Tragically, Riley’s beloved brother Benjamin passed away by suicide in 2020 at the age of 27, leaving behind a void in their lives. Lisa Marie, the cherished daughter of Elvis and Priscilla Presley, also left this world at the age of 54 on January 12 due to cardiac arrest. Both Benjamin and Lisa Marie found their final resting place together in Graceland’s Meditation Garden.
Following the devastating loss of Lisa Marie, Riley and her grandmother were entangled in a highly publicized legal battle concerning the late singer’s trust, which was eventually resolved last month. It was reported that Riley agreed to pay over $1 million to Priscilla, who is 78 years old, in order to become the sole trustee of her mother’s estate. Additionally, she covered legal fees amounting to an additional $400,000. As part of the agreement, Priscilla was removed as the trustee of her late daughter’s estate. Unfortunately, her wish to be laid to rest beside her late husband, Elvis, was reportedly denied.
The legal dispute arose in January when Priscilla contested her daughter’s will, citing concerns about its authenticity and validity.
In the face of such emotional turmoil, Riley Keough continues to carry the memories of her late mother and brother close to her heart. The Emmy nomination serves as a bittersweet reminder of her talent and dedication, intertwined with the longing for their presence and the profound impact they had on her life.
Through her artistry and resilience, Riley pays tribute to the indelible bond she shared with her mother and brother, leaving an enduring legacy in their honor.
